October - December
Michaelmas term means lots of new arrivals and so we kick off the year with our collegiate competition - Cuppers, in October. College teams will battle it out to claim some spectacular silverware, meanwhile as a club we are hoping to find some fresh talent for the Fresher's Varsity Match. This takes place in November and it's the first chance for new members to the club (they needn't be 1st years) to compete against Oxford and get a taste of Varsity Magic!
January - March
Lent Term brings with it the indoor season. Our athletes compete at numerous events including the British Indoors, London Indoor Games and BUCS Indoors. The indoor season culminates with the Varsity Field Events and Relays (VFEAR). This is our indoor Varsity against Oxford. To mix it up we compete in relays and as teams for each event.
WARM WEATHER TRAINING CAMP
Over the Easter holiday CUAC escapes Cambridge to the sunnier climes of Tenerife – a highlight of the CUAC calendar where we make the most of the warmer weather to get some serious training done. Every squad’s training plan is different, but we usually train every day but one. There is plenty of time to explore area with volcano hikes, water park trips and the legendary kilo challenge to keep us entertained.
Check out the video at the bottom of the page for a flavour of what Warm Weather Training is like!
April - June
With the BUCS and the Varsity Match both in May, the summer term is the critical part of our year. We'll also host CUAC Sports to help with selection for the Varsity Match and compete at numerous meets to get ourselves prepared.
After the academic year is over athletes are encouraged to keep training and competing for their home clubs over the summer vacation.
