The best of CUAC clashes with the best of OUAC (Oxford University Athletic Club). This is a match for honour and occurs every annually, Easter term, alternating location between Iffley Road, Oxford and Wilberforce Road, Cambridge.

We field four teams, men's and women's Blues and men's and women's 2nd's, with two people competing for each team in each event. In total, this means that we usually have over 100 athletes coming for Cambridge in the Varsity Match!

In early May we take on the best athletes from Universities across the UK at The British Universities & Colleges Sports (BUCS) Outdoor Championships. We can send up 2 per event and the competition typically runs for 3 days in Bedford.

CUAC Sports is a fun internal match which can be a great opportunity to log a good performance, on home turf, in time for Varsity selection. This is a great place to test yourselves out at different events in case we have some last minutes slots to fill. Want to give high jump a go? Go for it. Feeling like an 800 m? Then this is the comp to try it out.

After the bitter battle that is Varsity, Cambridge and Oxford athletes put their differences aside and team up to take on America. The best from both universities combine to form the Achilles team.

The first match in the series took place over 100 years ago, making the Transatlantic Series the oldest international athletics match in the world (it even pre-dates the modern Olympics!).

The series operates on a four yearly cycle:

2020 - Break for the Olympics

2021 - Achilles Tour to the US. Matches against H&Y and P&C.

2022 - Achilles vs Harvard & Yale at Iffley Road, Oxford

2023 - Achilles vs Penn & Cornell at Wilberforce Road, Cambridge

Cuppers is a slightly more friendly, internal match which we hold at the start of the academic year. Its college vs college to find out which one reigns supreme...this often means you'll see people covering all sort of events. to pick up as many points as possible for their college. It's also a great opportunity for newcomers to prove themselves worthy of selection for the Fresher's Varsity. So don't be afraid to try something new at this fun match!

Fresher's Varsity is the first chance of the year to face up against Oxford. This is where we find the best newcomers to the club (they needn't be 1st years) and put them to the test to see if they have what it takes to take on and defeat the Dark Blues.

This is the second in the series of annual Cambridge vs Oxford matches. Varsity Field Events and Relays (VFEAR) is an indoor match which takes place at Lee Valley indoor track. The venue always helps to produces a great atmosphere and some great performances. To mix things up, each event is scored on the team performance, so we compete in relays or add up the total distances/heights from field events to determine which university won each event.
